A safe home for children and young people rescued from human trafficking – opening on May 1st

What it's about

According to official figures, a child disappears in South Africa every five hours. 23% of children reported missing are never found again, or only resurface years later – often as victims of human trafficking, exploitation, or violence.

On May 1st, we are opening a Place of Safety for them: a secure place where rescued and especially vulnerable children can find peace, receive care, and step by step return to a self-determined life.

The house is in place. The care team is ready. What's still missing is the furnishing that turns a building into a real home.

If we raise more than is needed for the basic furnishing, we will use the surplus for day-to-day operations during the first months (food, hygiene, educational care).

Who's behind the Place of Safety

The Place of Safety is run by the team at Beyond Priceless – together with social workers, psychologists, volunteers, and local partner organizations. Coordination is handled by our experienced team, who have been working in child protection for years.

May 1: Official opening of the Place of Safety
From May 1 onwards: Gradual intake of the first children
